Synthesis, Structure and Properties of a One-Dimensional Cd(II) Complex Based on a Chiral Ligand

Abstract: A new 1D Cd(II) complex [Cd(L-pheA)(Ac)] n (1) where the L-pheAanion stands for the chiral ligand (L-phenylalanine hydroxamic acid) is synthesized and characterized. The single crystal X-ray analysis reveals that each Cd(II) atom is coordinated by three L-pheAligands and two acetate anions in a distorted seven-coordinated pentagonal bipyramidal configuration.
