Show more

“…The thermal decomposition of CO 2 by dissociative excitation has been studied using the T&TWinner software, based on the minimization of the Gibbs free energy. 44 Figure 2 shows that, from a thermodynamic point of view, CO 2 dissociates at high temperature into carbon monoxide and oxygen with no precipitation of carbon. However, the main limitation is the reaction kinetics.…”

“…However, the relevance of a combustion kinetic mechanism has been proven by Benilov and Naidis for low current arc discharge . The mechanism has been first tested numerically in exhaust gas fuel reforming conditions in a plug flow reactor (PFR) for a very long time (∼10 8 s) and then has been compared to a thermodynamic model based on the T&TWinner database. The results with the n -heptane kinetic mechanism from Curran et al were consistent with the thermodynamic model.…”

“…The nozzle front face AB of the torch sizes 12mm. The Jets & Poudres [12] results are among others used to validate the present LB results either for the plasma jet or the powders dynamics and heating. In the solution procedure, the LB background, the turbulence modeling and the LB-physical conversion platform are considered and the thermo-physical properties temperaturevariation is fully accounted-for in our model [13].…”

“…To show the validity of the proposed procedure of conversion and the novelty against others LB attempts to simulate this complex thermal flow, a validation analysis based on a free jet was performed. The centerline velocity and temperature profiles were compared to former predictions and measurements [12,[14][15][16]. The predicted results for the centerline axial velocity and temperature field are plotted in Fig.…”
