The occurrence of temporary wetland habitats was once frequent in Europe, especially in the Mediterranean region, but attenuating nowadays. The role of anthropogenic aquatic habitats (such as irrigation ponds) in biodiversity and nature conservation has recently become more important. Small irrigation ponds and greater water reservoirs are common parts of the landscape in Albania. The persistent drought of 2016-2017 allowed us to explore the floristic diversity of the beds of dried irrigation ponds and reservoirs. The timing of the field survey was early autumn based on knowledge of the expected appearance of mud vegetation. We recorded the physical parameters of the ponds (location, altitude, the slope angle of the embankment, and bedrock). The cover of each species, water surface, and mud has been estimated by circuiting the whole reservoir. Altogether 129 ponds and reservoirs were studied, more than 3400 new floristic records referring to 324 vascular plant species (of which 35 are adventive) were recorded. Most of the dried irrigation ponds were rather sparsely colonized. Irrigation ponds can serve as a refuge for plants that are connected to wet habitats, but grazing and manuring in and around them can be a threat by promoting the spread of invasive and nitrophilous plants.

2018 decemberében publikálásra került az interneten Magyarország edényes növényfajainak online elterjedési atlasza (Atlas Florae Hungariae). A több mint 1 millió adatrekord felhasználásával felépült adatbázis gerincét a Magyar Flóratérképezési Program során gyűjtött adatok képezik, emellett feldolgozott szakirodalmi és herbáriumi adatok is elérhetők innen, illetve megjeleníthetők a térképeken. A kvadrátok fajszám szerinti megoszlását bemutató térkép az egyes területek fajdiverzitását és a flóratérképezési alapfelmérés minőségi különbözőségét mutatja. Az adatbázis bővítése 2016 és 2019 között elsősorban szakirodalmi adatfeldolgozással folytatódott. Az így bekerült új adatok 25%-át a Kitaibelia „Pótlások” sorozata szolgáltatta, amely egyes taxonok adatainak jelentős bővülését hozta. Az adatközlések révén legnagyobb mértékben az üde erdei fajok (pl. Allium ursinum, Dryopteris dilatata) adatai gyarapodtak, emellett egyes gyomnövények adatai (pl. Euphorbia maculata, Senecio vernalis) is jelentősen bővültek, amely összefüggésben áll terjedésükkel. A honlap tervezett fejlesztése során egy bővített és revideált, egységes koncepciót követő Taxonlista megalkotása tekinthető az egyik legfontosabb feladatnak, emellett bővíteni kívánjuk a térképek jelenleg alkalmazott jelkulcsrendszerét, az adatrekordokhoz kapcsolódó információkat.

During the systematic floristic research along Transdanubian roads (NW Hungary) since 2013, two native halophyte Spergularia species has been found. Due to the well known spreading near motorways in Eastern-Central Europe, the appearance of Spergularia marina along roads in northwestern Hungary is not a surprise. Occurrences of the species were registered along fourteen main roads. Some of the stands are very rich where S. marina forms single-species lines along the asphalt edge. The spreading of Spergularia media along roads is yet much less intensive. Four stands were found near the motorways M1 and M7, main road 74, and the common section of the main road 86-87. Both species are native in the Hungarian plains, being specific elements of Pannonic alkali grassland associations, however, their secondary migration along road edges is promoted by road salting, intensive management of roads and increased vehicle traffic. In this paper, we specify secondary occurrences of the two Spergularia species, discuss their ecological and abiotic circumstances and publish corresponding distribution maps. Due to recognition problems in Spergularia, a corrected determination key was provided.

Abstract: Th e fi rst part of the newly launched series includes miscellaneous new records from fungi to vascular plants. New Th e present paper includes also the revision of the occurrence of Calamag rostis villosa in Hungary and concludes that it has been extinct in the country.
