Tb(III) complexes with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-stearoyl-pyrazol-5-one as a material for luminescence Langmuir–Blodgett films

Abstract: Synthesis and properties of new luminescent amphiphilic Tb(III) complexes [TbL 3 Á2H 2 O]Á3H 2 O, TbL 3 Ábipy, [H 3 O][TbL 4 ]Á6H 2 O and [H 3 O][TbL 0 3 L]ÁH 2 O, where HL is 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-stearoylpyrazolone-5 and HL 0 is 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-formylpyrazolone-5, are reported. The complexes have been characterized by elemental and thermal analysis, FTIR and luminescence spectroscopy methods. Formation and properties of Langmuir-Blodgett films of the complexes are described.

“…In the first case, L1 is a surfactant, and L2 is a low-molecular-weight ligand, such as H2O, 1,10-phenanthroline, 2,2'-bipyridine, etc. [16]. In the second case, L2 is a surfactant that binds the Ln(III) ion due to the formation of a π-complex, and L1 is a low-molecular-weight chelating ligand (for example, βdiketone) [17,18].…”

“…In the second case, L2 is a surfactant that binds the Ln(III) ion due to the formation of a π-complex, and L1 is a low-molecular-weight chelating ligand (for example, βdiketone) [17,18]. A variant of this approach is the use of an anionic CC of the composition [Ln(L1)m] -, where L1 -is a surfactant [16], or [Ln(L1)m] -(L2 + )n, where L2 + is a cationic surfactant and L1 is a low-molecular-weight chelating ligand [19].…”

“…20 Reacting YbL and LuL with 1-octadecylamine yields the two novel complexes bearing three octadecyl arms, (Yb, Lu)L 18 with H3L 18 = tris(((3-(1-octadecylimine)-5-methylsalicylidene)amine)ethyl)amine. Aliphatic chain bearing Ln complexes have received attention for forming Langmuir-Blodgett fluorescent films, [21][22][23][24] and for creating lanthanide containing micelles. [25][26][27] Herein we present the synthesis and structural characterisation of two aliphatic complexe YbL 18 (1) and LuL 18 (2).…”

“…During the coextrusion processing there always appear tasks of choosing the most effective solution variant out of the range of technically (technologically) acceptable ones [6][7]. While planning the technological process of manufacturing the product, these tasks acquire particular forms connected with the choosing of process-dependent parameters for a definite machine, materials, and a product being manufactured.…”
