Teaching Chemical Information in a Liberal Arts Curriculum

Abstract: This paper gives a synopsis of our current approach to teaching a course on chemical information at Oberlin College 1 and reports changes made during the past two years. We have described the course in some detail elsewhere (1).

However, in 1999, STN Easy was the state of the art search engine for the CAS database, and many databases that exist today did not yet exist; therefore, an update is timely.…”
