Team Teachers: The Importance of the Selection Process

Abstract: This article discusses the team teaching process developed in the Washoe County School District in Reno, Nevada, which resulted from the Nevada Legislature's mandate to reduce class size in the primary grades to a ratio of 15:1. The study describes the nature of team relationships in the District and how teachers came to teach in a team situation. Teacher involvement in the selection of team partners and its relationship to perceived success is examined.
