Temporal and simultaneous processing in the brain: a possible cellular basis of cognition

Abstract: It is suggested that the left hemispheric neurons and the magnocellular visual system are specialized in tasks requiring a relatively small number of large neurons having a fast reaction time due to a high firing rate or many dendritic synapses of the same neuron which are activated simultaneously. On the other hand the right hemispheric neurons and the neurons of the parvocellular visual system are specialized in tasks requiring a relatively larger number of short term memory (STM) Hebbian engrams (neural net… Show more

“…We observe, and it was suggested by Fidelman (2000Fidelman ( , 2002a, that there is a similarity between the collapse of the wave function as a result of a detection of the photon, and the object-integration (at a location) of visual search. Indeed, while Schroedinger's equation is a mathematical model of the preattentional stage of perception, classical physics and particle physics are mathematical models for the behaviour of concrete objects, in particular macroscopic objects.…”

“…Drivers such as communication, human activity, system processing, design, specification and trade-offs are necessary considerations. A wider computer scientist community argues towards the effect of work stress, human information processing, sensory motor skills, ergonomics, generic and specific IT training [13][14][15] [12]. Several conflicts and apprehensions arose during BIM usage in Hong Kong, amongst issues noticed were the need for BIM interoperability significant for the interoperability among the participants.…”
