Tests of ecological indicators of two-way vehicles meeting Stage IIIB and Stage IV standards in real operating conditions

Abstract: W artykule zaprezentowano badania i analizę wskaźników ekologicznych dwóch ciągników szynowo-drogowych zrealizowane podczas rzeczywistej eksploatacji. Warunki testów i konstrukcje pojazdów charakteryzowały się zbliżonymi parametrami, przy czym obiekty spełniały odmienne normy emisji spalin: Stage IIIB i Stage IV. W badaniach zastosowano aparaturę z grupy PEMS. W analizie wskaźników ekologicznych wyznaczono jednostkową emisję szkodliwych związków gazowych i cząstek stałych. Uzupełnienie stanowi ocena wskaźników… Show more

“…It is an environmentally friendly solution due to its usage having close to zero emissivity. Contrary to the combustion of hydrocarbon fuels, where the combustion products, in addition to steam and heat of combustion, include such harmful compounds as: CO 2 , CO, HC, NO x as well as particulate matter (PM) [4,17], the combustion of hydrogen result in the production of water vapor [26,27] and when the temperature is high enough also the formation of NO x compounds. Hydrogen can also be used in fuel cells, the so-called Fuel Cell Hydrogen (FCH) [5,24].…”

“…The third way is to define emission factors based on CO 2 emissions or fuel consumption. The assessment of the toxicity indicators, which refer individual compounds to CO 2 emissions, is presented in [17]. This approach seems to be the most developmental at present.…”

“…Vehicles of this type are not yet so popular a solution on the railway market. However, this solution can be used in any type of railway vehicles, including rail-road vehicles [20,21,34], locomotives [22], Multiple Unit (MU) [10], and auxiliary rail vehicles.…”
