Abstract:

A political discourse contains some features that must be constant in them to be recognized and understood by the audience as such but, at the same time, must fulfill the purpose of transmitting the message aimed in that venue with a personal and original style. “…In a further explanation of the phenomenon of interactional sociolinguistics, this author explains how Gumperz (1982a: vii) produces interpretive sociolinguistics methods to show how to analyse real-time processes in interpersonal communication (Schiffrin, 1997). “…These differences were examined from the angle of Hindi-Punjabi code-switching and linguistic convergence. Apart from Gumperz's (1982) concentration on social and cultural issues, the author also examined individual expression in the area of code-switching like the two types: one language variety to another language and the second metaphorical codeswitching. He is noted for concluding that "what we perceive and retain in our mind is a function of our culturally determined predisposition to perceive and assimilate" (p 12).…”

“…Moreover, positive words and the need for collaboration open the speech and a hopeful message closes it. Added to this, every threat made in the body of the message is mixed with references to the countless times the United States has offered help to Europe (Hernández-Guerra, 2012 The thread of Obama's speech is the unity of all Americans: black, white and Hispanic. He starts and finishes with a reference to the American Declaration of Independence.…”

“…Примером практического применения такого подхода служит исследование выступления Б. Обамы в Страсбурге в 2003 г. [Hernández-Guerra, 2013]. На лексическом уровне автор проследил, как часто президент США использовал существительные и прилагательные (в том числе в степенях сравнения), какие именно существительные превалировали в его речи, с какими понятиями связывались пейоративные и мелиоративные смыслы, сколько использовалось антонимов, синонимов и гипонимов.…”
