The textured Ca 0.85 (LiCe) 0.075 Bi 4 Ti 4 O 15 (LCCBT) ceramics were fabricated by templated grain growth method, with the piezoelectric constant (d 33 ) around 29.5 pC/N. Owning to the orientation of the grains, the properties of the textured ceramics have been improved. The mechanism of texture development was explored for textured LCCBT ceramics. The factors contributing to the texture evolution include the templates growth, the morphological change of the matrix grains and the grains group formation. The change of the matrix grains goes through four stages: the equiaxed grains, the square tabular grains, the pyramid-like terraces, the platelike sheets.
