“…Our study included all patients with AKI, probably including substantial number of patients with prerenal AKI, whose condition could be reversed after aggressive treatment. In a cohort of postoperative AKI, Lin et al [16] found that in patients surviving up to 90 days, 84.7% had renal function recovery and became independent from RRT. In a large multicenter study including 32 ICUs, Bell et al [17] showed that while only 8.3% on the patients developed the need for chronic dialysis in CRRT group, 16.5% had renal nonrecovery in the intermittent hemodialysis group, suggesting that the modes of RRT also play an important role in renal outcome.…”
