“…In Figure 1, the FTIR spectra can be shown, comparing the different examined materials, i.e., GO, PFSiC 1.5-15 , GO-PFSiC 1.5-15-1 , GO-PFSiC 1.5-15-0.5 , and GO-PFSiC 1.5-15-0.3 . In the FTIR spectra, primary hydroxyl C-OH (1380 cm −1 ) groups, epoxy C-O groups (1186 cm −1 ), and carbonyl C=O (1820 cm −1 ) groups can be detected in the GO spectrum, which reveals that large numbers of oxygen-containing groups have been introduced/interact into/with the GO structure [36,37]; noting also that there is an absence of absorption at the wavenumber 1725 cm −1 , which matches with the characteristics of C=C aromatic stretching vibration, indicating that GO is completely oxidized [38]. The band at 1038 cm −1 , which was found only in the spectra of pre-polymerized coagulants, can be assigned to the asymmetric Si-O stretching vibrations of Si-O-Si bonds, which is indicative of the high polymerization degree of silica.…”

“…The functionalization of GO–PVP with Fe 3 O 4 magnetic nanoparticles has been done by chemical co-precipitation method ( Scheme 2 ). 34 In a typical procedure, 0.5 g of GO–PVP dispersed in 50 mL of DD water and sonicated for 30 min. The 100 mL solution containing 556 mg of FeSO 4 ·7H 2 O and 1081 mg of FeCl 3 ·6H 2 O salts continuously stirred at 40 °C for about 30 min and thereafter reaction mixture was adjusted to pH 4 by the addition of 1 M NaOH solution.…”

“…In order to further understand the adsorption mode of attapulgite to GO, the adsorption data were fitted by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model and the Freundlich adsorption isotherm model, as shown below [ 32 ]:…”
