The Amine Content of PEGylated Chitosan Bombyx mori Nanoparticles Acts as a Trigger for Protein Delivery

Abstract: In modern medicine, effective protein therapy is a major challenge to which a significant contribution can be expected from nanoscience through the development of novel delivery systems. Here we present the effect of the amine content of nanoparticles based on PEGylated chitosan Bombyx mori (PEG-O-ChsBm) copolymers on the entrapment of molecules in a search for highly efficient nanocarriers. PEG-O-ChsBm copolymers were synthesized with amine contents from 1.12% to 0.70%, and nanoparticles were generated by sel… Show more

“…With the increase in 12 LCC concentration, the FL intensities of three CdTe QDs firstly enhanced and then decreased to almost quenching, and in the LCC solutions with a low concentration, the FL intensities of the three CdTe QDs were higher than that in blank QDs solutions with the same concentration. Moreover, the three CdTe QDs showed a slight blueshift in their emission wavelengths.…”

“…[8][9] In the encapsulation of QDs for bio-applications, the carbohydrates have advantages over other biological materials because of their biocompatibility, relative chemical solubility and stability in aqueous physiological environment. [1,[10][11][12][13] And 3 among these carbohydrates, chitosan is a promising biodegradable polymer to encapsulate QDs for the imaging of tumor and the visualization of drug distribution in vivo, [1,[14][15] because the positively charged surface of the chitosan nanoparticles have strong interaction with the membrane of cancer cells for endocytosis. [16][17][18][19][20] Lin et al [21] encapsulated CdSe/ZnS QDs with chitosan to prepare hybrid nanospheres (CSQDs) by utilizing ethanol-aided counterion complexation in aqueous solution.…”

“…The films were put in direct contact with the crystal and an average of 100 scans was made for each surface. High resolution Solid-State NMR (SSNMR) experiments were performed using a VARIAN INOVA spectrometer operating at 13 The degree of substitution (DS) of chitosan amino groups is defined as the number of substituted sites in a sequence of 100 repeating units, as usual for grafted copolymers [20,21]. For instance a DS of 79.7 means that for each 100 repeating units of chitosan, 79.7 were substituted, in a number average.…”

“…Therefore, since signals 11, 10,9 and 9 0 are equally enhanced in the SPEMAS spectra, they all belong to OLA units. 13 C CPMAS allows magnetization transfer between 1 H and 13 C nuclei mediated by the CH dipolar coupling. Because dipolar coupling can be partially or fully averaged by molecular motion, carbon signal in the CPMAS spectra arises mainly from molecules that are rigid or execute restricted dynamics.…”

“…In our study, we use Bombyx mori chitosan, which, unlike crab chitosan, is characterized by a low initial molecular weight, which makes its use in medicine promising. In the literature, there are no data on the study of the bactericidal activity of chitosan Bombyx mori; the fact of using Bombyx mori chitosan is also important, which we emit from local raw materials, which are waste products silk, which annually accumulate in the amount of 10,000 -15,000 tons [10] [11] [12].…”
