Recommendations that half doses of anthelmintic be used against H . conforfus outbreaks (Forsyth and Gibbon 1980) apparently d o not consider the fact that other species of parasites such a s 0. circumcincia, which have a higher natural tolerance to anthelmintics than H. conforius, may also be present in lesser numbers. Thus the risk of selecting for resistance in these nontarget species is likely to be increased if half doses of anthelmintic are used.…”
