“…Uridine diphosphate glucosyltransferases (UGTs) are extensively believed to modulate the endogenous phytohormone homeostasis to further promote abiotic stress resistance in plants via their glycosylated function that is referred to the formation of hormone conjugates [ 93 , 94 , 95 , 96 , 97 , 98 ]. As expected, numerous DEGs encoding UGTs were identified to participate in various hormone-related pathways ( Figure 8 and Supplementary Table S7 ).…”

“…TraesCS3B01G144800.1 is a UDP-glucosyltransferase (UGT), which may regulate the degradation of ABA to enhance the drought resistance of wheat. In a study of the Arabidopsis thaliana UGT gene, Chen et al [ 58 ] found that plants overexpressing UGT75B1 downregulated ABA response genes under drought stress, indicating that Arabidopsis UGT75B1 responds to abiotic stress through glycosylation of ABA. This gene has not yet been identified in wheat, and we are currently validating its function(s).…”

“…UGT75B1 is an auxin-related gene that controls cellular ABA content and activity through glycosylation. UGT75B1 is induced by osmotic stress, salinity, and ABA [ 27 ]. Overexpression of UGT75B1 in Arabidopsis thaliana provokes higher seed germination rates, larger stomatal aperture, and seedling greening in response to salt, drought, and osmotic stresses [ 28 ].…”
