The Association Between Apolipoprotein E Genotype and Lipid Profiles in Healthy Woman Workers

Abstract: This study identified that the ApoE and CVD risk factors contribute to the lipid profiles, similar to other studies. The analysis including dietary intake and other gene in further studies may help to identify clear effects on lipid profiles as risk factor for CVD.

“…Glycated hemoglobin A1c was measured with high-performance liquid chromatography using Variant II (Bio-Rad, Hercules, CA, USA), and insulin was measured with electrochemiluminescence immunoassay using Roche Modular Analytics E170 (Roche, Mannheim, Germany). The homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) was computed using the equation [fasting insulin concentration (µIU/mL)×fasting blood glucose level (mmol/L)/22.5] 18…”

“…In those studies, carriers of APOE4 had higher results with respect to LDL cholesterol, while carriers of the genotype APOE2 -the lowest [20]. In the studies conducted among 305 women in Korea, a negative relationship was found between apoE2 and the level of HDL cholesterol, whereas there was a positive relationship between APOE4 and the level of LDL cholesterol [21]. In the studies by Sertic et al, a significant relationship was observed between APOE and hypercholesterolaemia.…”
