The batch and modeling investigation of Sr(II) adsorption on carbon nanofibers

Abstract: Effect of water chemistry on Sr(II) adsorption onto carbon nanofibers (CNFs) was investigated by batch and modeling techniques. The characterization results showed that CNFs comprised a variety of functional groups such as -OH and -COOH groups. No effect of ionic strength indicated that Sr(II) adsorption onto CNFs was the innersphere surface complexation. The maximum adsorption capacity of CNFs was 58.72 mg/g at pH 4.5 and 293 K.
