The benzodiazepine receptor inverse agonist DMCM decreases serotonergic transmission in rat hippocampus: An in viovo electrophysiological study

Abstract: The intravenous administration of the benzodiazepine inverse agonist DMCM (6,7-dimethoxy-4-ethyl-beta-carboline-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester) dose-dependently reduced the efficacy of electrical stimulation of the 5-HT pathway in depressing the firing activity of rat hippocampus pyramidal neurons. This effect was prevented by the benzodiazepine receptor antagonist flumazenil and reversed by the benzodiazepine receptor agonist diazepam. This indicates that DMCM alters 5-HT transmission in the rat dorsal hippoc… Show more

“…[34][35][36][37][38]. A combination of symmetric protein modeling and RosettaDesign [39][40][41][42] is applied to generate particles of appropriate geometry consisting of two oligomeric building blocks, at least one of which is intended for genetic fusion to the antigen (antigen-bearing component). The second component is generally based on a different oligomeric protein scaffold and is essential for assembly, but it is typically not used for antigen presentation (assembly component).…”
