The (CF3C(O)NH)(C6H5CH2NH)2P(O) phosphoric triamide as a novel carrier with excellent efficiency for Cu(ii) in a liquid membrane transport system

Abstract: Selective transport of Cu(ii) cation in the presence of six other cations across a bulk liquid membrane containing a novel phosphoric triamide carrier is studied.

“…Phosphoramide/phosphinamide moieties are well-known structural motifs of some bioactive products and drugs (Warren et al, 2016;Palacios et al, 2005). There are also reports on their applications in flame retardants (Nguyen & Kim, 2008), ligands (Wang et al, 2021;Ferentinos et al, 2019;Zhang et al, 2019), extractants (Akbari et al, 2019), anion transporters (Cranwell et al, 2013) and catalysts (Klare et al, 2014). Some of these characteristics are general for phosphoramide/phosphinamide compounds, and can be influenced by the groups attached to the common NP O unit.…”

“…29,57 One example is the application of R(+)-amethylbenzylamine-modied magnetic chiral sorbent in enantioseparation of mandelic acid. 58 From our previous studies on phosphorus-oxygen, phosphorus-nitrogen and phosphorus-sulfur compounds, [59][60][61][62][63][64] the P]O group was found as the best hydrogen-bond acceptor with respect to the other possible acceptor groups which usually exist in the molecules, typically C]O, S]O, N-O, P]S, ester and ether oxygen atoms, nitrogen, and p-system, examined with Xray diffraction study, statistical analysis based on the data deposited in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) 65,66 and quantum chemical calculations in some cases. The structures investigated include both achiral and chiral phosphorus compounds.…”
