The Chemical Characteristics of Chitosan Extracted from Green Mussels Shell (Mytilus virdis linneaus) and Its Potential Application as a Natural Coagulant

Abstract: Chitosan is a poly N-acetyl-glucosamine biopolymer, natural cationic polyelectrolyte, and biodegradable. Chitosan is obtained by alkaline deacetylation of chitin.
