“…Both colorimetric and fluorometric techniques have been studied in metal titrations of PCs derived with chalcones. 24 In this study, the novel phthalonitrile derivatives 3 and 4 and the novel metallophthalocyanines (MPcs; M = Zn, Mg, and Co) derived from (E)-3-(3-bromophenyl)-1-(3hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one 3a-c and (E)-3-(3fluorophenyl)-1-(3-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one 4a-c have been synthesized and then characterized by Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, UV-Vis, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. In addition, the aggregation properties of the newly synthesized chalcone-substituted PC compounds 3a-c and 4a-c are described.…”

“…The diversity in the activation patterns shown by gold opens a large window of possibilities for the use of this metal as a powerful tool in the design and synthesis of relevant compounds in different fields. In fact, an increasing number of structurally complex molecules, such as natural products, biologically active compounds or polycyclic systems are reachable from synthetically accessible alkyne, alkene and allene reagents under metal-mediated isomerization process (Aubert et al, 2011; Yamamoto, 2012; Zhang et al, 2012; Stathakis et al, 2016; Hu et al, 2017; Herndon, 2018). In this sense, gold shines over other metals mostly due to its tolerance to diverse functional groups, low toxicity and the usually mild thermal conditions that are required to run these kind of transformations, in some occasions even showing tolerance to aqueous media or green solvents (Gatto et al, 2018).…”

“…Olefin metathesis is one of the most important catalytic reactions for the formation of new C=C bonds. 1 Over the past three decades, olefin metathesis polymerization, 2 macrocyclization, 3 and ethenolysis 4 reactions have been developed in industry and academia. Ru-based olefin metathesis catalysts are well-defined molecular systems and exhibit significant reactivities.…”
