“…However, the reduced abundance of Bacteroides , Phascolarctobacterium were recovered after the administration of RPMP ethanol extract ( Figures 6C , 7B ). Desulfovibrio is a gram-negative bacterium that produces endotoxins and has been shown to increase intestinal permeability and production of enterogenic factors (mainly LPS) ( Zhao et al, 2019 ). The increase in Desulfovibrio abundance caused by HFD was effectively reduced after RPMP ethanol extract treatment ( Figure 6C ).…”

“…Desulfovibrio bacteria are capable of producing H 2 S in the mammalian intestinal tract and are usually found in a variety of habitats including soil, intestine and feces of animals, and both salt and fresh water. [45][46][47] In addition, either increased or decreased abundance of Desulfovibrio bacteria was observed in NAFLD animals, [48][49][50] therefore, the exact role of Desulfovibrio bacteria in NAFLD is not clear. Our results revealed Desulfovibrio bacteria were positively correlated with acetic acid levels and negatively correlated with metabolic disorders suggesting Desulfovibrio bacteria were beneficial rather than detrimental bacteria for metabolic disease.…”

“…Saponins, as characteristic constituents of the genus Lilium (Munafo and Gianfagna 2015), have many pharmacological activities, including anti-depressant activities (Liu et al 2017), antiinflammation (Zhao et al 2019), etc. In addition, it has been reported that total saponins in L. lancifolium and L. brownii can prolong the sleep time of mice caused by pentobarbital sodium (Li et al 2012.…”
