Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine the forms of Islamic character of the Deli Malay community, the formation of Islamic character education in the Deli Malay community, supporting factors for the formation of Islamic character in the Deli Malay community, and the obstacles faced in forming the Islamic character of the Deli Malay community in the Medan Maimun District environment. Methodology: This research uses qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Using observation, interview and document study data collection techniques. In analyzing the data, researchers used qualitative analysis techniques with data reduction steps, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Main Findings: Forms of Islamic character such as honesty, responsibility, tolerance and deliberation are strongly reflected in the Deli Malay community in Medan Maimun District. Character formation involves various methods such as teaching, example, habituation, motivation, and enforcing rules. Supporting factors include participation in madrasah or Islamic boarding schools, additional learning in muktabs, and the existence of Malay associations. However, there are also challenges in the process of forming Islamic character, such as the influence of globalization, the lack of Deli Malay culture being maintained, and the lack of figures who can be used as role models. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research explores various methods and strategies used to integrate Islamic values in character education in this community. It is hoped that the results of this research can make a significant contribution to the development of the Islamic character education curriculum in madrasah and provide guidance for educational policy makers to improve the quality of education.

The present research aspires to scrutinize the role of the Islamic culture course syllabi in infusing Islamic tolerant moral values among university students from the perspectives of staff members at King Khalid University. Also, the study pointed to probing the degree to which the Islamic culture course syllabi infuse Islamic tolerant moral values among university students. The quantitative and qualitative research methods with the survey method were taken by the two researchers. Moreover, the two researchers developed an opinion poll of fifteen items based on a five-point Likert Scale that was analyzed quantitatively by applying descriptive data. The two researchers chose a random stratified sample from different campuses of King Khalid University in Abha, Algraa, Alomhalah, Dhahran Aljanoub, and to mention a few). The purposive sample of the study consists of hundred staff members. The results revealed that the general average of the role played by the Islamic culture course syllabi in infusing Islamic tolerant moral values among university students from the perspectives of staff members at King Khalid University came to a high degree with an arithmetic average of (4.17). Also, the findings demonstrated that the content of the Islamic culture syllabus better’s university students’ moral and intellectual capacity and prevents them from extremism, and ideological conflicts. The study recommends the requirement to carry out further investigations on the role of Islamic culture course syllabi courses on other variables such as character internationalization and advancement of work ethics among students.

This paper is qualitative research, discusses and examines how government combating radicalism and terrorism in relation with global and international perspective. From these incidents, various investigations have also been carried out by the authorities to arrest every actor in acts of radicalism and terrorism, which resulted in a discovery that there were ; people out there dedicated their lives to being terrorists, recruiting potential terrorists, teaching terrorism, spreading understanding of Islamic religion that deviates, and convincing them to follow the teachings of Islamic religion in the style of terrorism. Radicalism and Terrorism in the global world, including Indonesia, have become one of very serious problems, because this phenomenon not only related to the home security but also global threat. The global waves of terrorism and radicalism have the international characteristic, borderless and transnational activity, even transnational organized crime. Therefore, this paper underlined and emphasized that combating international terrorism and radicalism cannot only be supported by one Country, but also it needed the international cooperation.
