AbstrakTulisan ini untuk memahami realitas kehidupan beragama di Indonesia dalam hubungannya dengan proses pendidikan Islam. Masyarakat Indonesia adalah heterogen, plural, baik dari sisi etnis, budaya, dan kepenganutan agama. Keragaman dalam menganut agama cenderung eksklusif, karena masing-masing memiliki keyakinan bahwa kebenaran agamanyalah yang paling benar (truth claim). Keharusan bertoleransi didengungkan dimana-mana, bahkan sudah menjadi kebijakan pemerintah melalui program kerukunan antar umat beragama. Sebagai muslim yang mayoritas, seringkali menjadi sasaran tuduhan "intoleran". Islam memiliki doktrin tentang toleransi, sebagaimana ditunjukkan dalam tulisan sederhana ini. Doktrin toleransi ini perlu ditanamkan sejak usia dini, untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran bertoleransi. Toleransi adalah perilaku yang melekat dalam kepribadian setiap orang. Untuk menumbuhkan "perilaku" toleran ini, maka salah satunya melalui proses pendidikan agama Islam. Pendidikan menjadi representasi peradaban suatu masyarakat atau bangsa. Dalam konteks ini, masyarakat yang damai, aman, terbuka, saling menghargai dan menghormati perbedaan, sebagai bagian dari keberhasilan pendidikan dalam mencetak pribadi yang toleran dan beradab.Kata Kunci: Toleran, Fenomena Kehidupan Beragama, Pendidikan Islam, Truth Claim Fenomena kehidupan beragama memiliki daya tarik tersendiri sekaligus menyedot perhatian cukup besar dari semua kalangan. This research aims to describe the readiness of preservice physics teacher are graduate from PTKIN, especially in education. The aspect that observed in this research are capability of laboratory processing and science literacy that affected to pre-service physics teacher quality. The research was conducted by collecting data of management laboratory capabilities and science literacy of students in physics education department of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati as graduate by PTKIN and to be a physics teacher. The subjects in the research are students of physics education department at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung in three years. The data in this research were collected by spreading the instruments of management laboratory capability as form of a multiple choice test and essay for determine the ability of students in science literacy. The second instrument was a questionnaire of student’s attitude as a prospective physics teacher about the implementation of learning theoretical. The collected data were analysed using multiple regression analysis to determine the effect of management laboratory capability (X1) to readiness professional physics teacher (Y) and the same analysis was also conducted to clarify the effect of the science literacy (X2) to readiness professional physic teachers (Y). The result of this research are expected to be reference to make improvements in the course have a planning for prepare the professional of pre-service physic teachers. Generally, the research gives a conclusion that laboratory management capability and science literacy do not give effect to readiness become a professional pre-service physics teacher.
Scientific literacy is the ability to use scientific knowledge, identify problems, and draw conclusions based on evidence, in order to understand and make decisions about nature and changes that occur in nature as a result of human activity. This study aims to determine the development of physics teacher candidates’ scientific literacy. This is important to prepare the physics teachers in the future. The method used was ex-post facto. The subjects of this research were all students of physics education Department of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung from the first to the last semester. The data collection used was essayed tests which contained the context of science, the content of science, the process of science, and the attitude of science. Data analysis was done qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of this study, it indicates that the scientific literacy ability possessed by physics teacher candidate students experiencing a continuous development in terms of the context of science, science content, the process of science, and attitude to science. The result of this research may be applied by the Physics Department to make a decision or rule on how to improve the physics student’ literacy level
This article aims to discuss comprehensively the concept of tolerance in Islam later thought in such a way that the concept can be applied operationally in Islamic educational institutions such as madrassas, Islamic boarding schools and colleges. Methods and approaches used to address this issue are philosophical (phenomenological) and the sociology of education, one of which is the theory of inclusivism Mircea Eliade. In Islam, different thoughts, tribes, and even religion (adherents) refer to fitrah and sunnatullāh of God"s will. For this reason, then, tasāmuh (tolerance) becomes an important doctrine in every religion treatise, including in Islamic education system i.e; 1) to have responsive toward modernization which has been existed in general school institutions under Ministry of Education; 2) to develop sensitive character toward the change through apporiate learning strtategy and developing children psycho-social condition, modernizing learning facilities, environment, and other supporting factors including the involevement of parents, government, society and other education stakeholder; 3) to implement a model to strengthen inclusive Islamic education system which is opened, dialogic, and student-centered; 4) to bear a strong and tough human reseource with high tolerance who will act to occupy and create new civilization emphasizing on religion, spritual and humanism values; 5) to develop networking and corporation both national and international to expand informationn access, funding, and other international supports.
Purpose of the study: The purpose of this paper is to elaborate methodological diversities in understanding religions both in internal and external circles and contexts are seen from Islamic theological perspectives. Methodology: The research methodology used in this study is a qualitative analysis, using content analysis method. Main Findings: The diversity of religious beliefs and religious understandings needs to be interpreted as a logical consequence of divine provisions. Methodologically, however, an individual’s belief cannot be adjudged right or wrong without understanding socio-cultural, referent, educational, and other external background experience shaping his belief and diversity. Applications of this study: Understanding and tolerant behavior in the diversity of beliefs in Indonesian society is necessary to create inter and inter-religious harmony, to realize a solid nation and state of life. Therefore, a comprehensive effort is needed to minimize intolerant understanding and behavior in the community from an early age, through integrative education and learning.
