The Design and Implementation of Smart Campus System

Abstract: To improve the educational environment and the comprehensive management level of the universities, the smart campus system has been constructed based on BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3DGIS (Geographic Information System) platform in this study. Using Autodesk Revit software to build model relied on BIM technology and Skyline software to design the spatial database relied on 3DGIS technology. A 3D visualization campus information system called smart campus was constructed, which provides feasible solu… Show more

“…It has three main features: customized services, information services, and platforms for the workplace. The concept for developing a smart campus is based on IoT to use advancements in information technology to incorporate the digital environment-based application framework to deliver services with better quality [4] It supports the convergence and combination of applications' benefits for the collection of data from campus and exchange to facilitate the teaching process, services, and research facilities [5].…”

“…Sari et al [6] provides an example of a smart campus design from Indonesia focused on the use of IoT for the development of smart campus services limited to education, parking and rooms automation. Bi et al [7] provides an example from China focusing on the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and of 3D Geographic Information System (3DGIS). Chan and Chan [8] looks at the latest development of Smart Campus and, especially, Smart Libraries, focusing on how innovation in those areas create positive impact on those who use their services.…”
