Abstract:Epichlorohydrin can be extracted from aqueous solutions containing glycerin, monochlorohydrin and glycidol into carbon tetrachloride and determined by infrared spectrophotometry. The high-frequency component of the complex band a t a wavenumber 1274 cm-l is used as the analytical band. A three-fold excess of carbon tetrachloride over the aqueous phase is necessary for the quantitative extraction. A cell thickness of up to 1 mm can be used ; the concentration limit of the solute in the aqueous phase is then 0-3… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
