The diagnosis of plant pathogenic bacteria a state of art

Abstract: Plant protection plays an important role in agriculture for the food quality and quantity. The diagnosis of plant diseases and the identification of the pathogens are essential prerequisites for their understanding and control. Among the plant pests, the bacterial pathogens have devastating effects on plant productivity and yield. Different techniques (microscopy, serology, biochemical, physiological, molecular tools and culture propagation) are currently used to detect and identify bacterial pathogens. Detect… Show more

“…As high-throughput DNA sequencing becomes common and costs reduce, pathogen detection and diagnostic techniques are slowly progressing from these traditional methods to molecular methods [58,59]. This change is expected to continue into the future as more technologies are developed [60,61]. The overall aims of all these techniques have remained the same-accurate, reliable, and fast identification and differentiation of specific bacteria from others and of the disease symptoms they cause from those by other causes.…”

“…Therefore, pathogens bacteria, and fungi for rice disease are not effective using ELISA. Also due to inadequacy of specificity, ELISA is not able to discriminate several strains with luminous specific symptoms [282]. ii.…”
