The Digital Agricultural Revolution: A Bibliometric Analysis Literature Review

Abstract: The application of digital technologies in agriculture can improve traditional practices to adapt to climate change, reduce Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions, and promote a sustainable intensification for food security. Some authors argued that we are experiencing a Digital Agricultural Revolution (DAR) that will boost sustainable farming. This study aims to find evidence of the ongoing DAR process and clarify its roots, what it means, and where it is heading. We investigated the scientific literature with bibl… Show more

“…Although there are some bibliometric analyses of technological developments related to agriculture (Bertoglio et al, 2021;Martinho, 2021), crop-related climatic elements (Zyoud and Fuchs-Hanusch, 2020) and underlying organisational systems (Luo et al, 2020), the literature appears disjointed on the topic. Al-Kodmany (2018) highlights the need to bridge the gap oriented to the development and application of the vertical farm, which should guarantee environmental, social and economic benefits.…”

“…In recent years, bibliometric analysis has been applied to visualize the knowledge status, features, evolution, and emerging trends in various research fields ( 16 ). It can help scholars extract quantitative information on distribution by country/region, institution, author, journal, research hot spots, and frontiers in a particular field in a short time, providing in-depth reviews and insights about the research field ( 17 ). Therefore, the present study used bibliometric tools to analyze the QEEG studies in neuropsychiatric disorders from 2000 to 2021 to provide a comprehensive overview.…”
