Abstract

Much less attention has been conferred on the spatial distribution of FDI in the case of developing economies. In the case of Vietnam, and in spite of recent evidence of the uneven distribution of FDI within the country (IMF, 1996;US Embassy, 1996), research on FDI remains very much at the macroeconomic level.Given the increasing openness of the various economies of the world, FDI is an important tool of regional development in many countries' economic strategies.
