The effect of anaerobic digestate derived composts on the metabolite composition and thermal behaviour of rosemary

Abstract: The study reports on the effect of anaerobic digestate derived composts on the metabolite composition and thermal behaviour of rosemary ( Rosmarinus officinalis L.). Plants were cultivated in semiarid soil under four different fertiliser treatments (composts of anaerobic digested cattle (C) or pig slurry (P) at 30t/ha and 60 t/ha, and two control treatments (inorganic fertiliser and no fertiliser application). Samples of leaves and stems were analysed to investigate the effect of treatme… Show more

“…The next three important steps in the TCA cycle are conversion of isocitrate to α-ketoglutarate catalyzed by ICDH, succinate to fumarate catalyzed by SDH with the generation of energy in the form of FADH 2 , and malate to oxaloacetate catalyzed by MDH ( Saha et al, 2012 ). Specifically, ICDH regulates nitrogen assimilation by maintaining the 2-oxoglutarate level ( Bustamante et al, 2019 ), thereby linking C and N metabolism, and relates to plant antioxidants ( Liu et al, 2010 ). In our study, G2 increased ICDH activity in G. uralensis under salt stress, which could affect C and N metabolism and antioxidant system.…”

“…Low organic acids, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen are obtained in acidogenesis (in DF case process stops here). Then, in AD, hydrogen with carbon dioxide is converted into methane [4]. DF in an AD process is sometimes called hydrogenotrophic anaerobic digestion [5].…”
