The Effect of Animation Media in Discovery Learning Model on Students’ Representation Ability on Chemical Equilibrium Materials

Abstract: This study aimed to determine the effect of animation media in discovery learning model on the students’ representation ability on chemical equilibrium materials. This study was an experimental study using post-test only group design. The study population consisted of 6 classes or 127 students. The sampling technique was done by using purposive random sampling, and 2 classes were chosen consisting of 53 students. Data were collected using a representation ability test which included macroscopic ability… Show more

“…As many technology are interactive and it can make the teacher creat an environments in which students can learn by doing, receive the feedback, and continually refine their understanding and build new knowledge (Donnelly, n.d.). Using technology in learning making students become more active to construct their own knowledge, and reduce boredom in learning (Hussin et al, 2018;Azzajjad et al, 2020;Azzajjad et al, 2021). The use of technolgy in learning can be done by making ebook, flipchart, games, multimedia interaction (MMI), electronic modul (e-modules), power point (ppt), video, and web based learning or WBL (Seruni et al, 2020) also by using online learning (Ahmar et al, 2020a) .…”

“…In addition, whether we realise it or not, the learning process in schools tends to be framed by intense competition between students. The representation of learners in the learning process needs attention because it will affect the mental process and the spirit of learning of learners [9]. However, some interesting facts are that the learning process in schools is always constrained to pursue the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) without seeing the conditions and development of students' knowledge and skills, this happens because students have not been able to be consistently enthusiastic in receiving the knowledge taught by the teacher [3], the solution offered is to present a relatively new learning model for students to help students achieve a consistent process of enthusiasm in the learning process.…”
