Background: Efforts to maintain healthy teeth and mouth require special attention, especially in school-age children. Data from the Kedungmundu Health Center shows 9,491 students and 3,338 students who need treatment with a percentage of 35.37%. This is minimized by holding counseling or health education through interesting media for children. Media that has a good effectiveness value is the media pop-up book and pocket book.Method: This type of experimental research uses a nonequivalent control group design. The sample in the study were 23 students with pop-up book media and 23 students with pocket books at SD Negeri Kedungmundu, who underwent an OHI-S examination and received counseling interventions with pop-up book media and pocket books with material on maintaining oral hygiene.Result: Counseling using pop-up books and pocket books obtained a significant value of 0.000 (<0.005), which means that there was a difference before and after the intervention was given. The OHI-S score shows that the majority have a good category after being given the pocket book and pop-up book intervention.Conclusion: Counseling with pop-up book media is more effective than pocket book media on the level of dental and oral hygiene in school-age children.

The prevalence rate of dental caries has experienced an increasing trend from year to year, so that the condition of dental and oral health problems in Indonesia is still worrying, especially for elementary school children. The high number of dental health problems is caused by many factors, one of which is the low level of dental health maintenance behavior. Promotive and preventive measures are needed to prevent dental and oral health problems, namely by providing dental and oral health education. Poster media is a medium or prop/tool that can be used to convey messages from communicators to the audience. Staircase poster media is a development of general poster media, this media is designed for the sequence/stages of maintaining dental health which are attached to the school steps. Objective: This research is to analyze the effectiveness of stair poster media in improving the dental health behavior of elementary school children. Method: This research used a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design. The research sample was 125 people taken using purposive sampling technique. The intervention group was given dental health education using posters, while the control group was given dental health education using filpchart. Data were tested using Wilcoxon test analysis, namely a pre-post design, while to compare the means of the treatment and control groups, the Mann Whitney test was used. Results: The results of the test of differences in knowledge, attitudes and actions of brushing teeth show that the p-value between the intervention group and the control group is 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a difference between the values of knowledge, attitudes and actions of brushing teeth after dental health education with children's poster media. steps and dental health education with filpchart. Knowledge can be increased through health promotion. In terms of the age at which children are susceptible to disease, counseling is especially aimed at groups prone to dental and oral health problems, namely elementary school-aged children. Leaflet media is the right media to increase the knowledge of fourth grade students where students can already read. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of dental and oral health maintenance knowledge before and after being given counseling using leaflet media to class IV students at SDN Sawangan 07 Depok in 2022. The research design used was quasi-experimental. The sampling technique with a total sample of 36 students. Data was collected by filling out pre-test and post-test questionnaires given to class IVB students. Data analysis used paired sample test. The results of the study before being given counseling about dental health maintenance using leaflet media had a good level of knowledge category of 25 people with a percentage of 69%, the level of knowledge in the sufficient category was 5 people with a percentage of 14%, and the level of knowledge in the poor category was 6 people with a percentage of 17%. The results of the study after being given counseling about maintaining dental health with leaflet media, most of the respondents had a good level of knowledge, 29 people with a percentage of 81%, the level of knowledge in the sufficient category was 7 people with a percentage of 19%, and no students were included in the poor category. The results of the paired sample test analysis obtained a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: leaflet media is effective in increasing knowledge about maintaining oral health in elementary school students.
