Hypertension is often called the silent killer because it does not show any symptoms. Hence, not all people with hypertension are aware that they suffer from a chronic condition that can cause degenerative diseases, to death. Hypertension is a problem that is often found in society, both in developed and developing countries, especially in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in the work area of Dua Boccoe Health Center and Blue Health Center of Bone Regency and Padongko Health Center and Palakka Health Center of Barru Regency, with a high prevalence of hypertension cases in Bone Regency (29.33%) and Barru Regency (33.59%). The type of research used is observational with cross-sectional design with a total of 356 respondents. Data were processed using the SPSS program with chi-square analysis and logistic regression. The results of the study based on the chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between the variables of age, education level, family history of hypertension, smoking, and stress with the incidence of hypertension (p<0.05) and there was no relationship between the variables of sex and physical activity with the incidence of hypertension (p>0.05). Furthermore, based on the logistic regression test, respondents were at a 6.5 times greater risk of developing hypertension if they had stress risk factors. Therefore, respondents are expected to carry out regular health checks and maintain a healthy lifestyle to control risk factors for hypertension.

Latar belakang: Prevalensi kejadian hipertensi di Provinsi Jambi meningkat dalam lima tahun terakhir. Faktor perilaku dan lingkungan merupakan faktor resiko dari hipertensi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran dan faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian hipertensi pada Anggota Rumah Tangga (ART) umur 18 tahun ke atas di Provinsi Jambi. Metode: Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan disain studi cross sectional bersumber data Riskesdas 2018 dari Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesehatan dengan menggunakan populasi target. Variabel bebas adalah faktor perilaku (aktifitas fisik dan merokok) serta faktor lingkungan yaitu pekerjaan dan wilayah tempat tinggal, sementara variabel terikat adalah hipertensi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan chi square. Hasil: Uji hubungan menunjukkan angka signifikan antara kejadian hipertensi dengan variabel aktifitas fisik berat (p = 0,016, OR = 1,214), aktifitas fisik sedang (p = 0,000, OR = 1,207), merokok (p = 0,005), dan pekerjaan (p = 0,000, OR = 1,538). Variable yang tidak signifikan adalah wilayah tempat tinggal (p = 0,834). Kesimpulan: Aktifitas fisik baik berat maupun sedang dan kebiasaan merokok serta pekerjaan merupakan faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian hipertensi Perlu ditingkatkan upaya promotif dan preventif dengan mengendalikan faktor resiko melalui edukasi menggunakan media yang mudah dipahami masyarakat sebagai langkah pencegahan kejadian hipertensi.

Tahajjud, a type of sunnah worship for Muslims, involves standard rules and complex movements that contribute to cardiovascular health and blood pressure regulation. Aims and scope: This study aimed to analyze the effect of a single bout of tahajud, on systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in normotensive young men. The study employed an experimental design with healthy men aged 18-25 and normal blood pressure (normotensive). It included a control group (n = 12) that did not perform Tahajjud and a trial group (n = 12) that regularly practiced Tahajjud for over six weeks. The treatment involved performing Tahajjud consisting of 11 raka'at from 3:30-4:30 a.m., lasting 25-35 minutes. Blood pressure was measured using a sphygmomanometer before and after Tahajjud, and data analysis utilized a t-test (p < .05). These findings indicate that there is a non-significant difference in the mean of SBP and DBP after midnight between the control and trial groups, SBP (mmHg): 110.42±9.16 and 114.58±4.98 vs 120±6.03, p = .11 and 115±6.74, p = .08. DBP (mmHg): 76.77±4.92 and 77.50±4.52, p = .58 vs. 81.67±8.35 and 79.17±5.15, p = .19, SBP and DBP decreased by 5 mmHg and 2.5 mmHg in the trial group. Tahajjud, regardless of regularity, can elicit a modest but non-significant reduction in both SBP and DBP. These results indicate that Tahajjud may have a potential role in promoting cardiovascular health. Further research is warranted to examine the long-term effects and underlying mechanisms of Tahajjud on BP regulation.
