The effect of salinity on fecundity and production of giant shrimp larvae (Macrobrachium rosenbergii de Man)

Abstract: This study was conducted to determine the effect of salinity which can produce the most fecundity and number of giant shrimp larvae (Macrobrachium rosenbergii de Man). The experiment was designed using 24 units of randomized block design (RBD) using 20-30 g (B1) and 40-50 g (B2) heavy parent shrimp, with differences in salinity 0 pro-mile (0/00), 3 pro-mile (0/00), 5 pro-mile (0/00), and 7 pro-mile (0/00) which were repeated 3 times. The results showed that differences in salinity of the parent weight group (2… Show more

“…Shrimp is highly appreciated worldwide, it has a high protein content and a low percentage of fat (Duray et al, 2022;Golder et al, 2022;Liu et al, 2022;Tanjung et al, 2022). The health, safety, and overall quality of shrimp cultivation profoundly hinge on various factors, including water quality, feed composition, and the mineral content in shrimp (Kawan et al, 2019;Amir et al, 2021;Bull et al, 2021;Vieira et al, 2021).…”
