The few successful outcome studies of the treatment of conduct problem adolescents (e.g., Alexander, Barton, Shiaro, & Parsons, 1976;Bowman, 1959;Massimo & Shore, 1963;Persons, 1966) generally have emphasized the monitoring of life events such as recidivism or employment records to evaluate the success of intervention. While these unobtrusive measures have been of critical importance, they are essentially follow-up measures of life adjustment skills and have not directly assessed the immediate impact of the treatment on the adolescent's current behavior.…”
