This research examined the effectiveness of citrus lemon aromatherapy, a natural plant-based intervention, and PC6 acupressure in reducing nausea and vomiting during the initial trimester of pregnancy, utilizing the principles of food science. The research utilized a non-probability quota sampling technique to select a sample of 40 expectant mothers. The study employed a two-group quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test design. The study involved the categorization of participants into two groups, namely aromatherapy and acupressure. The intensity of nausea and vomiting was assessed using the PUQE-24 instrument. The study analyzed pre- and post-intervention scores and found a statistically significant decrease in symptoms after the intervention. The Independent Sample T-Test yielded a p-value of 0.000. The comparative efficacy of both interventions was found to be statistically insignificant (p=0.465). The results emphasize the usefulness of utilizing citrus lemon aromatherapy as a non-pharmacological intervention for pregnancy-induced nausea and vomiting. This intervention is both safe and effective and has potential implications for its integration into obstetric and midwifery practice within the larger context of food science.

Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy are the reaction of the mother's body to the changes that occur as a result of pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting if not treated immediately will become Hyperemesis Gravidarum(HEG).Symptoms of nausea and vomiting in HEG can be prevented non-pharmacologically with acupressure therapy and citrus lemon aromatherapy. Aims the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of acupressure at the neigaun point (P6) and inhalation of citrus lemon aromatherapy in reducing the frequency of first trimesternausea and vomiting at Samarinda Medika Citra Hospital. Methods this study uses a true experimental design. The population is all first trimester pregnant women who experienced nausea and vomiting and underwent outpatient care at Samarinda Medika Citra Hospital. Sampling technique with consecutive sampling of 36 respondents. The results showed that there was a significant effect of giving acupressure at the neiguan point (P6) and inhaling citrus lemon aromatherapy in reducing the frequency of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester (p-value = 0,000). Nausea and vomiting can occur in first trimester pregnant women at 6-12 weeks of gestation. So that pregnant women are advised to do acupressure and inhalation of citrus lemon aromatherapy to reduce the frequency of nausea and vomiting which do not cause side effects

Background: Community service is an activity that aims to help the community in several activities without expecting rewards in any form. Purpose: The purpose of community service is to educate mothers about the importance of paying attention to their child's weight. Method: The way community service works is by collecting data, determining problem priorities, preparing educational materials, demonstrations of making innovations, then conducting direct counseling to groups of mothers who have toddlers at RT 08 Kedoya Village. Evaluation is carried out by discussion or question and answer. Result: Based on the results of the implementation of community service counseling, there were 5 mothers who had toddlers with substandard nutritional status (BGM) and 11 additional participants including lecturers, midwives and cadres. This activity is carried out together with the team. The participants were very active during the activity with a question-and-answer session. The participants were also willing to accept innovation in the form of toddler banana smoothies (SMOTBANLIT). Conclusion: Providing innovation of toddler banana smoothies to improve digestion so that appetite increases so that they can increase the weight of toddlers with substandard nutritional status.
