Having proficiency in English macro skills has been of foremost importance among English language learners to have a sustainable education. Evidently, knowing English corresponds with being able to articulate the language. However, many language learners still struggle to successfully master speaking skills. Previous studies advocated mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) as an innovative pedagogical practice that has the potential to be utilized in the acquisition of the speaking skills. Nevertheless, current studies that specify the usage of MALL in the readiness of speaking English are still limited. Therefore, this paper plans to fill in the gap by propounding a systematic review of published studies from the year 2013 to 2022 that are relevant to the implementation of MALL in the readiness to speak English. The findings of this review indicated that the usage of MALL fosters affective variables such as motivation, self-confidence, less anxiety, and learners’ control in the readiness of speaking skills, but most of the reviewed studies’ focal point were on older or adult learners, which created a gap in the literature. Hence, this requires the study of the usage of MALL in primary and secondary levels of education for the benefits of English language learners of all ages in the acquisition of speaking English.

Among numerous foreign languages, the English language is considered one of the major languages of the world. It has become a door opener for many people in their different fields and have led to advancements in career areas as it plays a major role in boosting confidence, improving connection, communication, and so on. It also gives people the opportunity for self-expression on a global standard level. Although the learning process of a foreign language can sometimes be difficult for both learners and teachers in terms of the various aspects of language learning, which includes; reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The methodology in this study implemented a systematic literature review using four popular scientific databases for searching relevant records for the purpose of the research. The results from searching the databases were integrated into the PRISMA flow diagram for the identification and extraction of high quality records that is relevant to the effects artificial intelligence has in the process of foreign language learning via the use of learning management system as the platform and medium for learning and teaching English as a foreign language. The systematic review research covers a span of 10 years, from 2011 to 2021. The most important finding in this systematic literature review is that the emergence of AI technology is helpful to both students and teachers in the learning of English as a foreign language using a learning management system as it improves and increases speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills processes and provides an easy, interesting, and personalized learning experience. The benefit of the study to shareholders; students and teachers, is to guide teachers on which AI tools to use and how they can be integrated or used into learning management systems to increase students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in teaching and learning foreign languages, especially the English language.

English proficiency is an essential requirement for students in the current era of globalization. Consequently, developing innovative and effective learning methods is crucial. The primary objective of this study is to develop an educational game application called Scramword to enhance students' English vocabulary. This research focuses on creating digital learning media that supports improving English language skills by incorporating interactive elements through a word game. Scramword is designed to enrich students' learning experiences enjoyably and engagingly, motivating them to enhance their understanding of English vocabulary. The development of this application integrates existing digital learning theories with game technology to create a platform that is both educational and entertaining. Scramword allows students to learn English at their own pace, actively interact with the material through various difficulty levels and topics, and receive immediate feedback to monitor their progress, providing them with the confidence that they are on the right track. The results of this study are expected to provide new insights into the use of game-based learning media for teaching English. By utilizing Scramword, students can learn the language more effectively while remaining engaged and motivated to continue their learning journey. Additionally, this research aims to contribute to the language education literature by demonstrating creative and innovative integration of technology and pedagogy in language learning.
