Common weaknesses included the absence of a control condition (Baider, Amikam, & Kaplan De-Nour, 1984;, treatment groups derived from convenience samples (Golonka, 1977;Reele, 1994;Vachon et al, 1982), and failure to use any validated instruments (Ferlic, Goldman, & Kennedy, 1979).
