The Effectiveness Test of Imunostimulants with Black Cumin Oil Extract (Nigella sativa) in Male Mice (Mus muscullus)

Abstract: The immune system is closely related to leukocytes. Leukocytes are part of the immune system which have an important role in every disease-causing agent. One of the efforts that can be made to increase the immune response is to provide an immunomodulator, a substance that can improve the immune system by means of stimulation (immunostimulants). Black cumin is able to stimulate bone marrow and immune cells and is able to protect normal cells from damage by disease agents, an increase in the total number of bloo… Show more

“…The pharmacological activity of N. sativa seeds as an immunostimulant is related to its ability to increase the number of leukocytes, where leukocytes are part of the immune system that has an important role in fighting disease agents. The main function of leukocytes is to destroy pathogenic organisms that cause disease through the process of phagocytosis and forming antibodies [11,12] . Based on the pharmacological activity of Nigella sativa, the purpose of writing this article is to reveal the potential of N. sativa as an immunostimulant to increase the body's resistance/immunity of cultured fish against diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria.…”
