Abstract-This paper generally reviews the situation of international translation teaching research from five perspectives: research trends, subjects, contents, research nature, and the authors' disciplinary backgrounds. The results indicate that: (1) on the whole, the number of papers published steadily increases; (2) the undergraduates majoring in translation take up a dominant percentage of the subjects; (3) the content focuses on thematic research and applied research; (4) speculative research are accounting for the main part in methodology, in which literature method is usually employed as research instrument; (5) the authors' academic backgrounds mainly focus on the fields of linguistics and translation, presenting a multi-disciplinary feature. Finally, the characteristics and development trends of international translation teaching and research are summarized and enlightened.Index Terms-translation teaching, international research, review and future prospects

This study aims to determine whether translation students at an undergraduate translation program have sufficient awareness of the availability and usability of online vocabulary and terminology search tools that can be of valid assistance to a translator. The study surveyed 50 female translation students of the Translation Program at Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia. The survey consisted of questions about knowledge and use patterns and included texts for translating between English and Arabic. Results show that although the students know and use a variety of online resources, they still lack in awareness of some of the very useful ones, and a small minority of the students does not use monolingual dictionaries at all. Analysis of the students' translations of selected terms reveals that availability of excellent online resources is not enough to prevent mistranslations if the students cannot select the right equivalent. The study has implications for lexicographers about the dictionary features most frequently used by translators-to-be. It also provides pedagogical tips for translator trainers who should guide their students to making use of the full potential of online dictionaries and term banks in order to achieve better translation outcomes.

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan subtitle editor terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar pada mata kuliah terjemahan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu perguruan tinggi swata terkemuka di Kabupaten Garut-Jawa Barat. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan bahasa inggris tingkat tiga semester satu yang terdiri dari empat kelas yaitu kelas A,B,C, dan D. Sampel diambil secara acak sebanyak dua kelas yaitu kelas A sebagai kelas eksperiment dan kelas C sebagai kelas kontrol. Sedangkan dua kelas yang lain dijadikan sebagai kelas untuk melakukan kriteria uji validitas instrument yaitu kelas B dan D.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen. Model yang digunakan adalah experimental design dengan metode pretest – post test control group design.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bahwa penggunaan subtitle editor dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa dalam translation. Hal ini berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis yang pertama yaitu nilai Sig. (2-tailed) > α atau 0,135> 0,05. Kemudian berdasarkn hasil uji pengaruh penggunaan subtitle editor terhadap hasil penerjemahan mahasiswa, disimpulkan bahwa dengan uji Mann Whitney U diperoleh nilai sebesar 14,500 dengan nilai z sebesar -6,505 serta nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Karena pada pengujian ini nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 lebih kecil dari a = 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar, antara mahasiswa yang menggunakan subtitle editor dengan mahasiswa yang belajar dengan metode pembelajaran translation secara konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut terbukti bahwa penggunaan subtitle editor dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar pembelajaran terjemahan. Kata kunci: Subtitle editor , motivasi, hasil belajar dan terjemahan.
