“…Karadayi et al demonstrated that in a sufficiently powered sample, the use of i-PRF alongside arthrocentesis compared to arthrocentesis alone provided significant improvements to patients with internal joint derangement utilising clinical and self-reported criteria, although there was no statistical correction for multiple comparisons. 84 This is consistent with similar prospective and retrospective research, 90,91 and in all of these instances, the i-PRF was produced to the same specification, using a DUO Process centrifuge with Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved S-PRF tubes, with an RCF max of 60 g, with a centrifugation speed of 700 rpm for 3 min. Thus, whilst the available trial data is slim, there is a clear rationale for future studies including i-PRF as an intervention for patients suffering with temporomandibular joint disorder or dysfunction as a means of reducing morbidity associated with the condition.…”

“…Intra-articular injection therapy is a modality that is used especially in patients who cannot get favourable results with other conservative methods [ 32 ]. Steroids [ 33 ], hyaluronic acid [ 10 , 33 ], and NSAIDs [ 13 ] were injected into the joint either separately or in combination [ 10 , 33 ], and did not reverse or end the deterioration cycle of the internal derangement [ 34 ].…”
