The Electrical Conductivity of Fluoroanhydrite Compositions Modified at the Nanoscale Level with Carbon Black

Abstract: The electrical conductivity of fluoroanhydrite compositions modified with different amounts of ultrafine soot was studied. The optimal ratio of additive and binder was determined in terms of both electrical conductivity and compressive strength. The research results have showed that the addition of ultrafine carbon black in the amount of 7 % by the binder mass had a significant influence on the mechanical properties of the composition as well as its electrical conductivity. The strength of the samples with 7 %… Show more

“…Modification of the mortar was done by adding Fulvek 100 multiwall carbon nanotubes in the amount of 7% by cement mass (manufactured on the basis of Graphistrength TM Masterbatch CW 2-45 ArkemaCo, Kolombe, France). The particular amount of multiwall carbon nanotubes had been defined by previous studies [33,34]. Fresh mortars of the standard consistency were used for the manufacture of sample beams with dimensions of 40 mm × 40 mm × 160 mm.…”

“…Compositions for antistatic flooring are developed, that are based on metal-saturated concrete with the addition of grinding sludge from bearing production [10]. Also known are the fluoroanhydrite compositions for flooring with low electrical resistance, which show that the addition of carbon soot in an amount of 7% by weight of fluoroanhydrite provides a decrease in the electrical resistance of the composition reducing its value to 100 Ohm [11], while the addition of a chrysotile dispersion based on 40% calcium nitrate in an amount 1.5% by weight of fluoroanhydrite reduces the electrical resistance by 106 times [12]. However, the improvement of the electrically conductive properties of the materials is usually accompanied by a decrease in the strength by 50-70% [11,12].…”

However, the improvement of the electrically conductive properties of the materials is usually accompanied by a decrease in the strength by 50-70% [11,12]. Considering all the above, the aim of this research was to determine the electrical conductive properties of the previously developed plasticized fluoroanhydrate composition used for flooring and to select an effective technological solution for its modification, which would reduce the electrical conductivity of the material while maintaining high physical and mechanical characteristics.…”
