The Evaluation of Inquiry Learning Skills towards Math of Middle School Students in terms of Inquiring, Evaluating, Reasoning, and Reflective-Thinking Skills for Problem-Solving

Abstract

Araştırmada, ortaokul öğrencilerinin matematiğe yönelik sorgulayıcı öğrenme beceri algılarını belirlemek amacıyla bir ölçeğin geliştirilmesi, geliştirilen ölçeğin sınanması ve matematiğe yönelik sorgulayıcı öğrenme becerilerinin problem çözmeye yönelik sorgulama, değerlendirme, nedenleme ve yansıtıcı düşünme becerileri açısından değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışma iki aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlk aşamada ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirliği araştırılarak kullanılabilirliği ortaya konmuştur. İkinci aşamada ise matematiğe yönelik sorgulayıcı öğrenme becerileri ile problem çözmeye yönelik sorgulama, değerlendirme, nedenleme ve yansıtıcı düşünme becerileri arasındaki ilişkiler araştırılmış ve çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir. İlişkisel tarama modeline uygun olarak hazırlanan ikinci aşama 217 ortaokul öğrencisi ile yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama araçları olarak; "Matematiğe Yönelik Sorgulayıcı Öğrenme Becerileri Ölçeği" ve "Problem Çözmeye Yönelik Yansıtıcı Düşünme Becerisi Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Ortaokul öğrencilerinin, matematiğe yönelik sorgulayıcı öğrenme becerileri, problem çözmeye yönelik değerlendirme, nedenleme ve yansıtıcı düşünme düzeyleri yüksek seviyede iken sorgulama beceri düzeyleri orta seviyededir. Matematiğe yönelik sorgulayıcı öğrenme becerileri ile problem çözmeye yönelik sorgulama, değerlendirme, nedenleme ve yansıtıcı düşünme becerileri arasında orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki mevcuttur. Matematiğe yönelik sorgulayıcı öğrenme becerileri cinsiyet, sınıf seviyesi, matematik başarı notu ve herhangi bir bilim çocuk programını izlemeye göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterirken herhangi bir bilimsel dergiyi takip etme durumuna göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemektedir.

Prediction Level of the Fourth Grade Students’ Scientific Attitudes on Reflective Thinking Skills for Problem Solving
