The exergy analysis of energy efficiency of the technology of granulated phosphorus-potassium fertilizers

Abstract: method consists in the agglomeration of ground rock phosphate with the aid of plasticizer on the base of the compounds of potassium at humidity of the charge not higher than 12 %. The advantages of the designed technology consist in the direct application of phosphorites without their additional crushing, in the use of the raw material that contains potassium as the plasticizer, in the possibility to refrain from treating the obtained fertilizer with preparations-loosening materials. The phosphorus and potassi… Show more

“…At the same time, a clear classification is provided in shelf pneumatic classifiers at specific loads of 15-20 kg/m 2 s, which significantly exceeds the specific loads of 0.1-1.5 kg/m 2 s for fluidized bed separators. Work [38] shows that in the production of granular superphosphate at the stages of pellet processing, energy losses are 5-10 % of the total energy consumption. It has been experi-mentally proven [22] that for a shelf pneumatic classifier, the specific air flow rate is 0.45-0.6 m 3 /kg against 1.1 m 3 /kg for fluidized bed separators.…”

“…The initial mixture of the granulated superphosphate with amount of 3 kg was weighed on an electronic scale with an accuracy of 0.1 g. The mixture was heated to 90-95 • C in the loading hopper with electric heating elements (it corresponds to the temperature at the outlet of the drum granulator dryer [49]) and fed by the belt feeder into the device on the upper shelf. The moisture content of the granules was less than 1 wt% at this temperature, not affecting the heat transfer process [50].…”

“…The process of applying protective organic shells onto mineral fertilizer granules can be called both encapsulation and granulation, since a significant increase of the initial granule size is observed. Therefore, standard equipment designed for granulation of fertilizers can be used to implement such a process [1][2][3]. However, it should be considered that, unlike mineral substances, organic substance has its own characteristics, which include burning ability, decomposition at high temperatures, increased ability to stick together and lump.…”
