“…The field of IC research has flourished in recent decades, and for a quarter century scholars recognize the importance that IC plays in business success (Edvinsson and Malone, 1997; Bellucci et al ., 2020). IC is a concept which includes all of the non-tangible aspects of value which are necessary for businesses to function, including personnel and their training (human capital), the personal relationships amongst employees and constituents (relational capital), and structural capital (such as intellectual property, information systems and organizational capital) (Stewart, 1997; Bamel et al ., 2020).…”

To develop the conceptual structure of the KM research in a strategic alliance context, we used co-word analysis of key words to construct the strategic diagram and Sankey diagram of the research field using bibliometric package in r software (Aria and Cuccurullo, 2017; Zupic and Čater, 2015; Bamel et al , 2020a, 2020b).…”

“…The primary objective of this study is to review the holistic, inclusive set of KM research literature in a strategic alliance context, to achieve answers to our two key research questions above. This study uses a quantitative literature review approach that analyzes the bibliometric indicators of selected publications (Bamel et al , 2020a; Bamel et al , 2020b). Bibliometric analysis is an objective way of critically reviewing the relevant literature, as it controls the author biases related to inclusion and exclusion of publications in a given field (Zupic and Čater, 2014).…”

“…Initially, knowledge creation was explained through the socialization, externalization, combination, interiorization (SECI) model (Nonaka and Takeuchi, 1996), which was a clear description of how the knowledge moves from being tacit to explicit and so in the end to generate new knowledge that is a new tacit knowledge. Previously, Polanyi (1966) highlighted the need for a deep exploration of tacit knowledge that was and is still considered the primary element of a competitive advantage for a company in addition to the involvement of intellectual capital (Ramadan et al, 2017;Bamel et al, 2020). In fact, Drucker (1993) converted such knowledge flow (ref SECI model) into knowledge management to better explain how knowledge creation works within a company and how this intangible asset became relevant in creating new knowledge and enhancing the existing and internal knowledge (Gaviria-Marin et al, 2018;Hussinki et al, 2017).…”
