“…All species under study were collected from Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Riyadh provinces (southwestern and central regions of Saudi Arabia). Consequently, the area under study (southwestern Saudi Arabia) should be included in the Afrotropical realm (see Gadallah and Brothers 2020), and this is closely correlated with the floristic composition of this area, thus supporting many of other previous works (El-Hawagry et al 2013Sharaf et al 2014;Gadallah et al 2018;Gadallah and Brothers 2020).…”

“…Lotfalizadeh &Fakhrzadeh (2012) recorded four species from Iran, L. bifasciata, L. biguetina Jurine, 1807; L. dorsigera Fabricius, 1775 and L. gigas Fabricius, 1793. Most recently, some species reported from Saudi Arabia (Gadallah et al, 2018). The presence of L. bifasciata and L. dorsigera in Iraq confirms the affinity of Leucospids of Iraq with Iranian fauna.…”

“…Based on available literatures, this species has not been reported from Iraq. But it is widely distributed in Europe, Central Asia, Middle East countries, China and Caucasus (Lotfalizadeh & Fakhrzadeh, 2012;Ye et al, 2017;Gadallah et al, 2018;Noyes, 2020).…”

“…There is some information on the vertebrates (birds : Jennings 1988;mammals: Habibi 1992;Masseti 2010;Cunningham and Wronski 2011;Wronski et al 2012; and herpetofau-na: Masseti 2014). The entomofauna knowledge of the Farasan Archipelago is relatively unknown with only published records for ants (Hymenoptera, Formicidae) (Sharaf and Al-Zailaie 2006), chewing lice (Phthiraptera, Menoponidae) (Alahmed et al 2015), leucospid wasps (Hymenoptera, Leucospidae) (Gadallah et al 2018), blow flies (Diptera, Calliphoridae) (Dawah et al 2019), and for cuckoo wasps (Hymenoptera, Chrysididae) (Strumia and Dawah 2019). Additional entomological studies are needed to document insect diversity, composition, and especially for needed conservation assessments for these islands.…”
