“…In this regard, several efficient catalyst systems have been reported involving Ru, Co and Rh NPs [10], Au NPs [11], Cu (airstable), Ag, and Au NPs [4,12] monometallic Au, Ag, Cu, Pd, Ir and bimetallic CuAg and CuAu alloy NPs [13]. Additionally, many transition metal catalysts involving Rh [14e16], Ru [17,18], bimetallic NiPd [19], Ag [20], borane-based catalyst (CoeB, NieB and CueB) [21] have been tested for solutionphase dehydrogenation of amine borane but there is no report concerning the use of dimethylamine-borane by solvent-free approach.…”

“…Recently, Geckeler and co-workers reported a solid state chemical reduction method for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles. [51] Sodium borohydride and poly(vinylpyrrolidone) were used as reducing agent and capping agent, respectively. Highspeed vibration milling was used for the thorough mixing of reactants.…”

“…It is apparently noticeable from the spectra that there is a shift to lower wavenumbers of the carbonyl group of pure PVP from 1662 to 1643 cm -1 when metal NPs are embedded in it. This implies that there is an interaction between polymer and the gold metal NPs, which is due to the chemisorption of PVP molecules on the surface of the gold atoms [49,50], thereby stabilizing it [51]. A weak coordinative bond between oxygen atoms in carbonyl group of PVP and metallic Au atoms is the likely cause for the interaction [52][53][54].…”
