Abstract:In the hypothesis that the majority of bright TeV sources detected by H.E.S.S. are powered by pulsar activity, like, e.g., pulsar wind nebulae (PWN) or TeV halos, we estimate the main properties of the Galactic pulsar population. We obtain a constraint on the spin-down time π sd , the initial period π 0 and the magnetic field π΅ 0 . Evaluating the cumulative flux expected at Earth by the considered population, we show that unresolved PWNe contribute to the Galactic gamma-ray diffuse emission in the whole hig… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citationsβcitations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
