“…Bibliometric methods can be used to research field mapping (Chen, 2017; Ferreira, 2018; Yan et al, 2010), analyse journals in a specific field, identify the most cited and influential documents, key topics, research fronts (Boyack & Klavans, 2010; Pham‐Duc et al., 2021), emerging trends (Chen, 2005; Hou et al, 2018; Wei & Zhang, 2020), indicate leading researchers and institutions, examine research networks and collaboration patterns (Kumar, 2015; Martínez‐López et al, 2018; Merigó et al, 2018), and measure the interdisciplinarity of a research area (Augustyn, 2020; Huang & Chang, 2011). The aim of this article is to provide an insight into the structure of the publishing studies field by indicating its core journals, determining the size of the research community, quantifying the degree of research collaboration and answering the question as to whether PS is more academically or professionally oriented.…”
