“…Various strands of academic scholarship-literature on media regulatory regimes and theories of media systems-highlight the ongoing dialogue regarding the importance of News Ombudspersons as main examples of self-regulatory mechanisms within public media organisations (Ferrell Lowe et al, 2018;Palau-Sampio, 2017;Evers, 2012;see Jacobs et al, 2022, for a discussion on how opinions formulated by ombudspersons are used to operationalize public accountability processes).
